@BeyondType1

Awhile back I came across this Instagram account called @BeyondType1...I clicked on their profile and landed at their website and was quite impressed. Founded in February 2015, Beyond Type 1 "seeks to bring a new level of respect, understanding and support for those living with type 1 diabetes. Our goal is to highlight the brilliance of those fighting this disease every day while always working toward ensuring a cure is on its way."

Things I've learned while being part of the diabetes community over the past three years is that there are very few people unwilling to help/support others. I'm in a Facebook group for moms with young diabetics called Diapers and Diabetes and it's full of encouraging words. Beyond Type 1 is rallying around this supportive community and their Facebook and Instagram accounts are full of affirmation, highlighting those living with type 1 and how they "live beyond."

Our girls were featured the other day and I couldn't be prouder, more excited about this organization and what they stand for! It's encouraging to see so many young children with T1D living life to the fullest and gives me great encouragement for my girls' future.
